We are very excited to announce two new additions to the Iowa River Landing: Adeva Salon and High Ground Cafe.

Adeva Salon

Adeva Salon will be moving from their current location to a new space in the Iowa River Landing before the end of the year.

Adeva Salon has been operating as an Aveda Concept Salon since 2008. The shop currently employs 7 full time staff and is looking to expand their team in the coming year.

“We have a strong belief in education for everyone that works at Adeva. All of our team have been extensively trained on the newest trends and techniques for hair and body care,” said Allisha Wegner, owner of Adeva Salon.

The salon will offer the full line of Aveda Products, including hair, skin care, body care and make-up. Aveda products are made from natural pure flower and plant ingredients that are the high performing with an emphasis on environmental sustainability. Hair services offered at the salon will include color, men’s and women’s haircuts, hairstyling and extensions. Spa services will include Ayurvedic treatments, body waxing, manicure and pedicure treatments, and eyelash extensions.

Wegner feels a salon will be a natural fit for the Iowa River Landing. “We really think the area is great match with the atmosphere of Adeva Salon,” said Wegner. “We are all about community and we feel like the Iowa River Landing is doing a great job of cultivating that environment.”

High Ground Cafe

High Ground Café will open a second location in the Iowa River Landing. The new shop will occupy the space formerly held by Waterstreet Coffee Bar, and owner Wesley Ward anticipates an opening date of November 1st, 2016.

“We’ve had our eye on the Iowa River Landing for a long time,” said Ward. “We’re very excited for this opportunity to expand our reach into Coralville.”

High Ground Café currently operates a shop in downtown Iowa City, with a menu containing coffee, tea, beer, wine, pastries, soups, sandwiches and salads. The second location in the Iowa River Landing will provide many of the same offerings as the downtown location.

“We’re going to start out with the same beverage and pastry menu we serve in our downtown Iowa City location, and are planning to add sandwiches, salads, and soups down the road,” said Ward.

Lindsay Raasch will be the manager of the new High Ground location. Raasch is the former Group Rooms Coordinator at the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, and is looking forward to working with the other shop owners in the area.

“I was able to form a lot of great relationships with the business owners in the Landing through my work at the Marriott,” said Raasch. “I’m looking forward to expanding those relationships and creating new partnership and collaboration opportunities with them.”

We’re very excited for what these two new businesses will bring to the Iowa River Landing!
