The Iowa River Landing is pleased to announce the latest addition to this exciting retail, dining, and hospitality district. Diamond Leaf Jewelers, a jewelry shop specializing in custom wedding and engagement rings, will occupy the space between Winestyles and Brides By Jessa. Owner Miriam Vakulskas anticipates an opening date of May 2016.
Vakulskas has been working in the jewelry business for thirteen years, both in national retail stores and in independent shops.
“Making the switch to working in an independent shop really grew my passion for this industry,” said Vakulskas. “It’s extremely rewarding to build relationships with clients as you work together to create something beautiful.”
The process of creating a custom ring at Diamond Leaf begins with a client consultation. From there, the use of Computer Aided Design allows clients to see their custom design come to life. 3D printing is utilized to create a resin prototype that shows the detail and scale of the custom jewelry with the diamond. Once the design is finalized, a team of experienced jewelers cast and hand set each gem.
“Quality, craftsmanship and expertise are at the heart of everything we create and carry in our shop,” said Vakulskas.
In addition to custom ring design, Diamond Leaf will carry over 300 engagement and wedding bands for purchase and/or inspiration. The shop will carry brands such as Bastian, Valina, and Caro 74. Diamond Leaf is also partnering with the virtual wedding planning company Brindle + Oak. This service will be offered for free to custom design clients.
“The Iowa River Landing is shaping up to be a premiere destination for bridal and wedding planning,” said Deanna Trumbull, sales and leasing consultant for the Iowa River Landing. “You’ll be able to shop for your ring at Diamond Leaf, purchase your gowns at Brides By Jessa, register and host your shower at Luxe Interiors, pamper your bridal party at Massage Heights, and purchase gifts at Winestyles and Von Maur. Plus, if you’re looking for a beautiful place to host the ceremony and reception, the Marriott is down here too.”
“I’m very excited to open my shop in the Iowa River Landing,” said Vakulskas. “It’s such a beautiful place. I’m looking forward to going to work there every day.”
