Lincoln McIravy of Homewood Suites addressed the crowd at Thursday’s media event at the Iowa River Landing before the group joined him in breaking ground for the new upscale extended stay hotel which is targeting completion in the fall of 2012.

Homewood Suites at the Iowa River Landing promises to be a true all-suites property with each room featuring a full kitchen, living room, and bedroom. The hotel will meet the needs of both business and leisure guests. Focusing on guests staying multiple nights, the hotel has been designed with their needs in mind.

Guests will be able to make themselves at home with a fully stocked kitchen, large working area, living room, and separate bedroom with upgraded bedding. The enhanced bathroom design will feature upgraded amenities and toiletries. The hotel will also offer functionality with complimentary HSIA, on-site guest laundry, and fully stocked “Suite Shop.” And of course, Homewood Suites will include a full-featured business center.

Additional services will include complimentary full, hot breakfast featuring fresh baked goods served daily. Evening dinner and drinks will be served Monday through Thursday, with complimentary guest grocery shopping service available as well.

In keeping with the Iowa River Landing’s mission of sustainability, Homewood Suites will feature several green initiatives including on-site recycling, use of energy efficient lighting throughout the building, water conservation programs, utilizing china and flatware for meal service (no disposables), biodegradable, eco friendly coffee cups, and high-efficiency PTAC units with programmable heating and cooling.
