University of Iowa Health Care – Iowa River Landing Facility
The steel structure is complete, exterior brick wall installation is complete on the east wall and has begun on the south wall, and interior framing and sheet rock installation is ongoing in the construction of this 150,000 square foot medical clinic being built on the north side of East 9th Street, east of 1st Avenue. Completion of the building is scheduled for June 2012, with the clinic opening for patients in October 2012.
Iowa River Landing Grading Project
Mass grading in the Iowa River Landing is finished for all known developments, and the remainder of northeast corner fill will be placed in 2012. This earthwork project prepares the land for future streets and individual developments.
Iowa River Landing Public Improvements
Construction of approximately half of the public infrastructure north of East 9th Street began in June 2011. Weather permitting, by this publication date all underground public utilities and public streets should be completed.
Iowa River Landing West Parking Facility
This parking facility for patients and staff of the University of Iowa Health Care – Iowa River Landing facility and for retail development on East 2nd Avenue will accommodate 770 vehicles immediately north of health care facility. H pile foundations and exterior retaining walls are complete, and columns are being poured as floor slab pours have begun. This parking facility is scheduled to be completed in June 2012.
Homewood Suites by Hilton
Deep foundation construction is complete and the excavation for the shallow foundations has begun at the future Homewood Suites by Hilton. This is scheduled for completion in summer 2012.
Backpocket Brewing
The foundation and underground utilities construction has begun for a new microbrewery north of the East 9th Street / Quarry Road roundabout. The brewery is scheduled to open in late spring 2012.
