Best-of-the-Area Restaurant/Caterer Lands on Retail Main Street
CORALVILLE, IA, December 18, 2012 – Charlotte’s is proud to be opening a full-service dining and catering location at Coralville’s Iowa River Landing. Area residents are likely familiar with Charlotte’s from their current location on Community Drive off of Highway 965 in North Liberty.
The family-owned and operated deli serves daily specials in a casual atmosphere. Brad and Charlotte Nielson founded Charlotte’s as a catering business in Coralville in 2001. In May 2010, they expanded into the restaurant business with the opening of their deli location in North Liberty. Their new 5,200-square foot location at the Iowa River Landing is expected to open fall of 2013. The restaurant’s dining area will seat 125 and they will employ approximately 40 people.
The new facility will include several customer-focused enhancements including a streamlined layout as well as innovative, point-of-sale (POS) and customer loyalty technology from Touch Systems of Cedar Rapids. In addition to their Total Touch POS software, which allows for online ordering from computers and smartphones, Charlotte’s will have high-resolution screens featuring daily specials and upcoming events as well as an Apple and Android mobile apps providing customers with easy access to feedback, specials, and social sites like Facebook and Twitter.
“Charlotte and I are both excited about the opportunities that the Iowa River Landing provides us,” said co-owner Brad Nielson. “We’re able to take what people already love about Charlotte’s and enhance that even more with new menu items, efficient space planning, and the technology we use to connect with customers.”
Charlotte’s also offers catering services to the Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty and surrounding communities. Charlotte’s focuses on delivering events with professionalism and style. Once open at Iowa River Landing, Nielson expects to run catering services out of both the Coralville and North Liberty locations.
Charlotte’s is the first of many exciting new businesses that will make up the “retail main street” at the Iowa River Landing.
