Scratch Cupcakery is excited to be opening its fourthlocation at Coralville’s Iowa River Landing. The original Scratch location opened in June 2010 in Cedar Falls, Iowa and business has been booming ever since. With an expanded location in Cedar Falls, Scratch Too in Waterloo, and its most recent location in West Des Moines, owner Natalie Brown is accomplishing her mission of making people smile, one cupcake at a time.
The Iowa River Landing cupcakery will offer a full menu of delectable cupcakes for every palate. Though the Scratch cupcake menu started with just 16 flavors it now includes over 80 varieties, and introduces more all the time. In addition to cupcakes, Scratch Cupcakery will offer hot drinks, fresh fruit smoothies and frozen blends, slushies and fresh-squeezed lemonade.
The 2,900 square-foot Coralville location will be adorned in shades of vanilla white and butter yellow, wainscoting and hardwood floors. The Iowa River Landing location will be an anchor store – baking will take place on-site and customers will be able to pick up orders right there. From the fantastic baked goods to the light fixtures and finishes, Scratch Cupcakery is a throwback to a time with a slower pace. Owner Natalie Brown says, “We want customers to experience Scratch – not just eat a cupcake!”
