Nearly One Million Bottles of Craft Beer to Be Bottled in First Year
CORALVILLE, IA, December 18, 2012 – Backpocket Brewing has announced that they expect to begin bottling beer at their Iowa River Landing location later this month. The state-of-the-art, German-built equipment arrived last week. Backpocket estimates 1–2 weeks of installation and commissioning before bottles begin to flow off the line. The goal is to release product in time for the holidays.
Backpocket Brewmaster Jacob Simmons estimates first-year production at close to 35,000 cases or 840,000 bottles. Corridor residents can expect to start seeing bottles in area restaurants, bars, and liquor stores within the next couple months. Distribution is slated to spread to other metro areas such as Des Moines, the Quad Cities, and Dubuque within the next six months.
Backpocket plans to bottle its year-round brews including Slingshot, Wooden Nickel, Pennywhistle, and Golden Coin. Once operations are up and running, Backpocket will focus on bottling specialty beers and 22-ounce small releases. For more information please visit backpocketbrewing.com.
