This year’s FRYfest theme is “Kinnick Traditions,” and it’s got us digging up TONS of long-last memories from games we won, games we should have won, and good times spent at our beloved stadium.

It’s also got us thinking about new memories too—and traditions that are just getting started.

One new(ish) tradition we’re excited to bring back this year is Paint the Pane, an event that showcases the area’s talent and heart. If you didn’t participate in Paint the Pane last year, we already know what you’re thinking…

What Is Paint the Pane?

Paint the Pane, presented by Diamond Leaf Jewelers, is an annual window-painting contest that gives artists and do-gooders a chance to “Hawk-ify” window displays around the IRL for a good cause. Anyone (that includes YOU!) can vote on their favorite display, and the winner is awarded cash for the local nonprofit of their choice.

Winners are determined by the number of “likes” their photos receive on our Facebook page. This year’s first place winner will receive $300 for their charity pick, with the second and third place winners earning $200 and $100 respectively.
